What’s the Best Time of Day to Trade?
-
Hey folks, I’m curious: when do you find the market most active or predictable during the day?
- Are there specific hours (UTC/GMT) you prefer?
- Do you avoid lunch hours or holiday gaps?
- How do you adjust for different sessions (Asia, Europe, US)?
Thanks for sharing your experience!

I swear by the London open, around 07:00–09:00 UTC. Volume spikes, big moves happen, and you get clear trend direction.

I only trade the NY afternoon session—13:00–17:00 UTC. Too many fakeouts earlier, but after US lunch it calms into nice moves! ^^

Simple rule: trade during overlaps (08:00–12:00 UTC) for max liquidity and minimal slippage.

I avoid 11:00–13:00 UTC (European lunch), market goes sideways and spread widens. Best to step away then grab lunch too!
